Sing for the Children
I'm proud to announce two brand new recording projects in support of the fundrasing efforts of the Children's Assessment Center of Kent County, and the Boys & Girls Club of St. Joseph County. These organizations work with children whose lives have been affected by dysfunction and tragedy. Please take a moment to visit their sites and consider supporting their efforts financially.
The albums have different cover art, but contain the same songs. They feature my version of The Pretenders' hit "I'll Stand By You", the title track from my award-winning debut album, "Little Girl", as well as three new songs which will be featured on my upcoming album, "Stronger". All songs were recorded in the studios of Jack A. Gregory and feature a guitar solo by Jack, and a banjo solo by Joey Schultz. I’ve been asked by the Children’s Assessment Center to record a version of “I’ll Stand by You” by The Pretenders, for an upcoming fundraiser and luncheon at the Frederik Meijer Gardens on April, 19.
Along with engineer Jack A .Gregory, I’m releasing a special recording with this song and a few pre-release original songs from my upcoming album Stronger. The special project will be used to help raise money for this important organization.
I’ll be in New York City again for shows at Kenny’s Castaways in Manhattan on Thursday, March 31, and the Williamsburg Music Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 2. I’ll also be attending the ASCAP New York Sessions workshop. I look forward to networking with the best and brightest!
If you have friends or family in New York, please invite them to a show!
In April, I’ll be flying to Los Angeles for another music conference...stayed tuned for a Hollywood show. I’m looking forward to meeting up with some Michigan-friends-moved-West, and to celebrating my birthday. I’ll also be hanging with new friend and Michigan singer-songwriter, Susan Picking.
In May, I’ll be performing Chicago’s Uncommon Ground –Devon st. with Ben Scott-Brandt (Ribbons of Song), and Chicago’s Tim Lowly. I really love the Windy City; why not drive to Chicago for a show and a night on the town?
Around Again
Welcome to my brand new website, special thanks to Kathryn Smidstra! I’ve been working hard in the studio of Jack Gregory, in Paw Paw, Michigan on my upcoming album “Stronger”. Download cards will be available soon with hard copy cds to follow.
In the last year I’ve performed in Chicago, New York and been featured several times on news and radio stations. I’ve also been working on an exciting new project with co-writing partner Mark Barger Elliot! I’m now an official ASCAP member and will be traveling to Los Angeles in the spring – looking forward to playing some cool venues and making some great new connections.
Check back regularly for updates on recording, shows and other promotions, and feel free to reach out to me with comments of encouragement, feedback, or whatever!
